Sorry, yes, that's what I meant. The hose was ok, but the nipple on the radiator had deteriorated. I had the hose replaced while everything was out, just for good measure. Couldn't hurt to replace both radiator hoses too. I like to replace things that are made more accessible by the primary repair.
As sndgeek posted, replacing the resistor is fairly straightforward. Double check the wiring too, and re-wrap it in electrical tape or similar if needed. An extra hour spent on it while the shroud is out could save lots of headaches later. I alas, didn't have the hour at that time.
