Being that it is that old it has probably had a lot of the major components replaced. I have a 97 900 SE. If I were you, I would take it to an indy Saab specialist in your area just to have it looked over. It shouldn't cost you much for that inspection. Some issues may be serpentine belts-not too expensive. Make sure the spark plugs are done because you could run into Direct Ignition failure sooner if you don't. The DI cassette sits on top of the plugs. Easy to remove, but an expensive part. Hoses should be inspected. Again, just take it to an indy Saab specialist. I am sure there is one in your area. I have had no major problems with mine. And don't let anyone tell you that something isn't worth replacing because your car will run hundreds of thousands of miles and perform well if you keep up with maintenance.
