If so then you might need to replace the hydraulic fluid in the reservoir tank. It will get used up over time and need refilling. It is not a service item nor in the manual as a maintenance item. To fix is easy.
1. Open pass through.
2. Remove plastic cover assembly on bottom and sides of pass through.
3. Remove the aluminum plate (9/16 in bolts). The motor assembly is attached to it. Pull it up to uncover the motor and check the reservoir. The is a low, medium and high fill. The difference between marks is top down to top up fluid use. Fill to middle line with top down.
4. To check fill you must open trunk and remove push pins and fabric along back of trunk. this uncovers the frame and there are two 1.5 inch holes. wth motor assembly in down position, use flashlight to peer through hole and check fluid level. it is iterative process to get filled correctly.
Total time to fix: 15 - 30 minutes depending on skills. Fluid is standard hydraulic (does not need to be brake certified).
