Well, after a week of no problems my car wouldn't start when I was trying to get to the airport. *argh* Fortunately I friend was nearby and gave me a lift.
The car has done this twice now. Cranks really well, but won't start. Everything looks/sounds fine. Doesn't even sound like it might start. Just cranks and cranks. The first time it happened it let it sit for an hour and then it started right up. The second time I let it sit for a couple of hours and still nothing. While it was sitting I pulled the spark plugs. They were completely dry. If there was fuel and no spark I would think they would be at least a bit wet. I listened for the fuel pump and I hear a high pitched whine that sounds like it. I thought about opening up the fuel line to see if there was any pressure, but wasn't in a position where I could get too dirty. I tried wiggling around the ignition key with no avail. After returning from my trip the car started right up.
I plugged my hand-held scanner into the car hoping to find something out of the ordinary with no luck. I don't have a lot of experience with this tool, so I'm not sure what I'm looking for.
I'll probably replace the fuel filter today since it is the original. I hate to take it to the dealer to just have them charge me $150 to not find anything.
Any ideas?
