Just went through something similar on my 2000 Viggen with a 150,000 KM, as you say had some pressure but poor shifting, if not at all. I immediately thought of the clutch master cylinder (used to go frequently on the OG900's) but my mechanic has never had to replace one on a 9-3 but has seen the slave cylinders get weak displaying the symptom I had. In order to replace the slave the transmission has to come out so, I had the clutch disk, pressure plate and slave done and just to be sure the master cylinder. Clutch is now great, should be, it is all new and feels like it.
The slave cylinder did show signs of minor leakage and my clutch disc had a couple of pieces missing that slightly cover the disc springs. Car is not driven hard but good old Viggen torque has taken its toll. Got all the parts from eEuro and total bill, with labour, was just over $ 1100.00 CDN. Well worth it as I intend to keep the Viggen plus she now drives just like new. Old clutch must not have been working properly for a while as there is now a very noticeable difference in shifting and driveability. Hope this helps.
