Manual trany? There is a switch on the back surface that controls those lights. When it fails, the fuse blows. Your windshield wipers probably do not work as well. Pull the connector on the switch and secure the free end if needed, replace the fuse and live with wipers and without those lights until the switch is replaced. Many have done that themselves.
