K, I'm curious as to what internal seals are blown. Overfilling the engine oil may cause oil to blown by the rings, but I'm wondering if there is indeed permanant damage. I would first off drain off the oil and install the correct amount. I have seen engines overfilled and you could actually hear the crankshaft couterweights sloshing in the excess oil in the pan, however they did not seem to have any permanant damage. As far as liability, how many quarts of oil are on the reciept? If it is 6 and your car takes 4.5 then you have documentation of a mistake and the shop should be held responsible. Overfilling puts alot of oil in the intercooler and turbo intake pipes and this can take a while to get it all out (and maybe some disassembly). Also the catalytic converter can be damaged by the oil. So I would find a compitant Saab indy to look at this and hold this quick lube shop responsible. Hope this helps. Coldshot.....
