My Viggen is about to come out of storage Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Mon, 24 Mar 2008 07:41:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've stored my Viggen for the winter. Total storage time is a little over 5 months. I've never had to do this, it's my first time so I need some help. What do I need to do before I start the car? Here's stuff I've done, and my ideas:
I've taken the battery out, and left it on a wooden block in the garage. It was quite cold, but not ridiculous, so I think it should be okay. I've changed the oil before putting it away, and as well put it up on blcoks. Now, my main concern is oil-starvation in the cylinders leading to a dry-start = not good. I'm thinking of putting oil in the cylinders (never done this, would need steps in doing it...sprak plugs, never taken them out, read something about using dielectric grease? never done this...) How do I start it? is there a way to just turn the engine a few times to get the oil evenly distributed? I DON'T wanna cause any unnecessary damage that is preventable. Anywho, ANY of your experience (first-timer here) is a great help.
