1997 NG900 SET. 120K. No mods but had K&N filter for 1 year until yesterday.
Thanks to all for their dedication to this site. It's great fun and makes for excellent spare-time reading. If I only had a photographic memory.
So suddenly, for one week now, on every fourth or fifth startup, hot or cold engine, the tach goes to 1300 (instead of usual 1800) and slowly drops to 1000, then it idles rough until I start driving. Also, at operating temperature, the engine stumbles as I approach full boost, just before redline. Midrange is ok. No CEL until today, I guess because I stayed on it a little longer than usual when it started to stumble - out of frustration. CEL flashed a few times, then went steady.
PO301 Cylinder 1 misfire detected
Freeze frame data:

This past week I replaced 4 vacuum hoses to TB, cleaned TB, cleaned IAC, cleaned BPC and checked resistance and it does buzz when reconnecting it, new NGK 6s gapped to .037, cleaned MAP contacts, different gas station, checked fuses, new air filter. Saab battery is from 2001 and has 3 cells at 75% charge (3 of 4 balls floating), other 3 are ok; 14.45 volts with engine running.
I think it's possible to clean the purge valve? Check resistance on the MAP. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for taking the afternoon to read this!
