Mine snapped off, but they did so on the wrong side for two of them on my 97. There wasn't enough clearance for the head of the bolt to push through when i did mine. I had to hack saw the bolts smaller to get them out, but ultimately did.
It was still an easy install, but not as easy as i'd hoped, especially on the ground with the car on ramps. On a lift, probably a different story.
