crack in windshield

A little hesitant to even bring this up, but driving on the highway, a stone cracked the driver side of the windshield. Its a pretty small crack, but right in the middle of my direct line of sight, and want to prevent any further cracking. Not to mention it glares quite a bit during the day.
I'd guess its probably not worth it to replace the windshield for the crack? How much would that cost? Is there any action I can take to remedy, or prevent further cracking? Thanks in advance.
