Ben, you most likely have residual sludge partially blocking oil galleys in your engine. This is why I suggested a lot of oil changes for the next 5000 miles, the cleaner your oil is the more ability it has to break down sludge. Another trick I learned from old school mechanics for cleaning out dirty engines is half a quart of automatic transmission fluid in the oil. As long as your oil light is off, and the engine isn't knocking, drive it long and get it hot, the more you drive it while it's hot the better the detergents in the oil will work.
My engine had this same problem as yours several years back, while the previous owner had it. I got the car from a good friend of mine, so I helped him fix it. Regardless, the problem was remedied before it got as bad as yours, but after the cleanup there has never been an issue; and I now have a stage 5 tune on the car.
