I did not want all that extra wire and the crossover box in the door if I didn't need it. Hooked them up and what a difference. There was no foam surround left at all on the old speakers, amazing they sounded as good as they did. This stuff must rot out at 3-5 years almost as fast as the dash speakers did. New ones have a butyl type surround instead of foam, should be the last time I have to think about speakers in this car.
