The upper idler pulley for a 2000 9-3 is Saab P/N 55562635 and cost about $45 at eEuroparts. Or you can chose the billet aluminium idler pulley for about $75 from Wazee Pulleys.
The upper idler pulleys seem to last about 45,000 to 60,000 miles before the bearings seize causing the serpentine belt to shred. So it is always good to know when the idler pulley was last changed.
