Dark oily reside on bottom of coolant reservoir

Hi, I've got a 1997 900S automatic with 110k miles. Should I be concerned about dark oily residue on bottom of coolant reservoir? Also, coolant seems to be disappearing very slowly (can't find any leaks, though) that I add 0.25 liter every two months. The farmost (right or nearest to battery and coolant reservoir) header valve gasket seems to be leaking because I also see black soot around the block. No loss of performance to speak of, just concerned for preventive measures and what I can do to keep it running as good as it is now. Thanks!
