1995 900S Bad idle when hot

Hi everyone,
I have been chasing a rough idle problem for about two months now. Basically, the car runs just fine when it is cold, but cannot idle when hot. I have about a 15 min drive to work on city streets and usually just as I get close to work in the morning it starts having an extremely rough idle to the point of stalling. I can prevent the car from quiting during idle if I give the car enough gas to keep the RPMs at 1500-2000 but it makes for a difficult drive home to shift into 1st while the engine is struggling to idle and I am trying not to burn out the clutch.
When hot, the RPMs fluctuate from 500-1000 -- sort of like a rum da da da dum, rum da da da dum, and occasionally the engine stalling out. Sometimes I get a check engine light, which I have not figured out how to pull the code on. Sometimes the information panel says coolant level low (even though there is plenty of coolant). I am 90% convinced it is a bad sensor that fails when it heats up as this issue only appears after the engine is warmed up.
It might be worth mentioning, that about two weeks ago I had to replace the crankshaft position sensor as the sensor failed while driving home on the freeway.
Any ideas on what sensor would fail only when hot and cause this sort of idling problem. I am at my wits end and just cannot afford a mechanic right now.
Thanks,
Jon
