Hi all,
97 900s with 2.3 4-cylinder and distributor (NO DIC).
Looking for any other ideas, since I'm at a bit of a brick wall. In the morning when the temperature is around 70-80, the car has a hesitation that mimics that of a starved fuel situation, but mainly when I let off the gas or try to maintain a given speed. Hard acceleration shows no hesitation.
We've been having 100 degree days lately and I've noticed that when I head home from work, there is no hesitation behavior in the hot weather of the afternoon. The other night, we had a storm front blow through that took the temp from 100 down to 72 very quickly, and the hesitation reappeared when the temps dipped below 75 although the car was at operating temperature, so it appears to be temp related. I've unplugged the MAF to see if it changes things, but the behavior continues.
Things I've changed:
Plugs
Plug Wires
Distributor cap and rotor
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Throttle Position Sensor
MAF
EC Purge Valve
Recently replaced crank position sensor
Many jugs of Techron run through the system
Are there other temp sensors that have a bearing on how the car runs?
All the best!
