Help...Radiator Stuck

After removing virtually everything on my 96 900SE conv. except the tonneau motor and the rear brakes, I finally got all the radiator attachments free. However, I just can't seem to get the rad out. There doesn't seem to be enough room to manhandle it out (and I thought getting the fan shroud was tough). I even broke the upper radiator hose connection trying to position it correctly, it broke rather easily. Is there some trick? (e.g. keep the lower attachments in place and move the top out first? take the bottom out first?) I can't believe after all the disassembly this has got me stumped. Thanks. (Plus I especially don't want to damage the new one going in)
