It all depends on the part for me. There are some things that are so Saab-specific that I wouldn't buy an aftermarket part even if it's available (DI cassette, for example.)
But there are other parts...starters, alternators, tie rod ends, most bearings, brake parts etc...that are so similar from car make to car make that there is no reason to pay extra for OEM. In fact, you could argue that the factory churning out millions of them in China (or rebuilding them in the US) in 2011 will have much better quality than the specialty supplier in some hamlet in Germany that Saab chose to do the OEM parts in 1998.
