If you do a search there has been lots of discussion on gearbox oil. Changing to the SAAB synthetic is often recommended, but because the original and synthetic aren't compatible you have to fill and drain the trans a few times. One thing that you might want to do is make sure you can open the fill plug before you open the drain plug so you aren't stuck with a useless car.
