Look at the value of the U$D versus the SEK. ;) You will see it is pretty sad compared to a couple years ago. We used to buy 10sek for 1$ now it is 6.5 on a good day.
Also a function of volume. When Saab is ordering production quantities then the suppliers have lower cost for the part. Running them in lower numbers still has same setup, tooling, calibration costs but these get spread over fewer finished parts.
Another factor is the working away from GM buying power. Back when the -94 900 came about the parts prices had the benefit of leveraging the purchasing of other larger gm brands... Don't exactly have that anymore do we.
Hang on though and there should be a flood of knockoff parts from the lower tier suppliers from China etc.
