Had the "brake light failure" warning come on today, accompanied by the engine dying when shifting into reverse (2002 SE, automatic trans)! Turned out to be a bad ground connection (which is ground for lighting AND the fuel pump) in the left rear of the car (due, I think, to less then perfect repair of collision damage many years ago in the left rear fender area). I took it to the dealer who found the problem...but it was something I could have found if I'd thought about it and looked a litte deeper. The reason I didn't was that I recall hearing that the electric wiring on these cars was "different" then on older cars...something to due with multiple signals thru a single wire...??? So I was reluctant to do much "fiddling" with the wiring. So...what is different about the wiring in these cars (if any) and is it wise not to fiddle with it??? Thanks
