OK, so the last parts for my DIY muffler install have arrived and I'm planning to do the deed tomorrow. It's a 2000 9-3 base model auto tranny 5-door with 140k miles on the originial muffler.

The current exhaust is loud. There is obviously an issue. I haven't tried to track it down. A few years ago the a wad of fabric blew our of the rear muffler. So I don't know why it is making a noise. I'm replacing the middle muffler and the rear muffler hoping the issue is in that section somewhere. I have all new clamps hangers and clips.

A few weeks ago I posted about this and got some good tips such as:
* backing up ramps will give me plenty of room.
* put the ramps on plywood (gravel driveway)
* Can put wood behind front wheels too if I need more room.
* Use a thin layer of muffler sealant
* Tighten the existing clamps to break the existing screws which will be rusty.
* helps to have another person to push forward on the muffler as the clamps are tightened.

Is there anything I missed? I didn't have any idea I should use muffler sealant, so that was a real help. Is there a torque spec for the clamps? Any other hints?

Ever since I upgraded to 64-bit windows my saab software stopped working, so I'm flying blind. Hopefully it's straightforward. I don't know what the clips are for but I assume I'll see the old ones.

Thanks!
