Others have talked about removing the transponder from a key & removing the cover of the central console & taping the transponder to the ignition or someplace else that is close enough to the reader. That way any properly cut key would work.... yeah you'd be "overriding" some of the security features, but the car is 13 years old, I suspect not a big target & its not like a thief would know just by looking at the car.
