2001 93 2.0 turbo
Battery group size 47
Dimensions: L= 9-1/2 inches; H= 7-1/2 inches; W= 6-7/8 inches.
Cannot find where owner's manual states: cold cranking amps (CCA); reserve capacity; etc.
Most of the batteries of this size have around 600 CCA.
From info I gathered online:
There are 3 major battery manufacturer's here in the USA. Exide; Johnson; and Deka. There were 4, (but delphi, who made batteries for acdelco was sold to Johnson). These 3 manufacturer's make most all of the different branded batteries sold here in the USA by making different color cases and branding logos. Not sure, but I suppose that some discount retailers carry batteries made overseas that do the same thing.
So list your luck with the following: (if it's not there add it please)
German battery unknown brand, white case: Came with used car, age unknown. Lasted total of 1 month would not hold a charge.
Deka: have had good luck with these in other autos. longest had one last was 6 years in another auto. (cuurently, the one in my saab is a 3 year old oversize, from another car). So far, about 6 months with no issue. It will not fit in plastic battery box cover, so will be replaced shortly.
Acdelco: have had good luck with these as well in other auto's. longest had one last was 7 years up here in the snowy north. recently, with the selling of delphi battery division to johnson, i don't know what to expect.
Most batteries cost about $75 to $130 or so, it's not about that. I do not like the hassle of charging batteries or jump starting in -10 degree Fahrenheit weather in the dark to make it to work. Would like a quality battery, even if it costs more initially. If no one seems to have a preference will go with a Deka because of past luck with them.
cheers.
