Besides making sure the car is in good working order, and the tires are properly inflated, the big issue is how aggressively you accelerate & brake. The smoother you are, generally the better mileage. So when approaching a red light, a stop sign or traffic get off the gas sooner & glide/coast more. Watch how fast you accelerate. Some talk about using the boost gauge as a proxy... i.e. keep it in the white. These won't give you much, maybe a few mpg, (but every one is >5% improvement) & doesn't make for exciting driving but it will also mean less brake wear & less stress on the engine.

You didn't say with trans you had, but some claim with their driving style with the auto they get better mileage in sport mode.
