The AIC provides a path for the air to get from one side of the butterfly plate to the other when its closed... so technically both ends go to the TB. On my '99, when looking from the front bumper, it sits to the left of the TB, with the arrow pointing to the long hose. Another way to think about it, is the connector sits high.
