OK, after a LONG hiatus on working on saabs, I am finally back into it and have never forgotten how helpful this site was to me when I rebuilt my first head.....
Here's one that has stumped me, probably because it is a '99 NG (to me, its a NG).
The front window guide has a bracket that has an adjustment nut, it looks like this bracket was screwed to the back of the guide behind the rubber "U". It has broken off......
So, my first question is ... how do you remove the front window guide? I'm not sure if I need to pry off the window seal at the top, remove the whole assembly (drill out the stupid rivets... I like my old gen 900 better so far!), then take out the who assembly and purchase a new one (I don't think the new assembly comes with window guides.
So - multi-questions..... can you take out the window guide? If so, how? If you can't take out the window guide, then can anyone recommend a "weld" (I was thinking marine epoxy, but I don't think it will hold up with the pressure from up and down for that long)....
I'd prefer to replace the window guide or at least get a new rubber "U" so I can remove old one, then drill out old screws and then rescrew it together.
Perhaps I am misunderstanding how this all goes together, but the bracket that includes the adjustment nut is certainly not attached.....
PS I was able to hold it manually in place and get the window to shut so I don't have to worry about rain anymore!
Thanks in advance for your help......
