It is a rather common problem, with some known solutions.
Below you will find my solution to the problem (earlier posted on this BB)
---------------------------------------------------------------
I had problems with my SRS-lamp for about 2½ years ( 94/900S 2,3), went to several dealers, found DTC error code B1332:
1. Dealer: Tried to diagnose the Airbag Control Module and the Slip-ring contact in the steering wheel, connections etc. No errors found, code reset, and after a few days, SRS light on again (several attempts, many working hours !!)
2. Dealer: Replaced the Slip-ring contact in the steering wheel (Appr. 150-200$ total, including work). Again: No real errors found, code reset, and after a few days, SRS light on again. Code reset once more, and after a few days, SRS light on again.
Then I lived with the problem for a couple of months.
2. Dealer 2. try: I found a SAAB TSB SI no 850-1980 (from juni 1998) on http://www.alldatadiy.com, describing similar problems: Diagnosis SRS-system - wiring harness to the airbag(s)
It says:
- don't condemn the controle module.
DTC codes concerned: B2323, B2337, B2442, B2447, B1332 and B1337.
My dealer changed wiring harness to passenger airbag, reset the code, and now the lamp has been off for appr. 4 months!!!! (still crossing my fingers..)
(Wiring Harness: appr. 20$ + labor)
Original SAAB spareparts are:
900/94 3D/5D Wiring harness driver airbag: 44 10 197
900/94 3D/5D Wiring harness passenger airbag: 44 10 189
900/95-> 3D/5D Complete airbag harness: 47 38 076

86/900 2,0 250K km
84/900 2,0 448K km RIP

BTW: My colleague has a 95/900, also with SRS lamp problems. Replacing the Slip-ring contact in the steering wheel solved his problem.
