1999 9-3 SE convertible with 130k miles-car failed PA state inspection today because the mechanic felt the passengers side rear strut is so rusted that is is very close to coming through the body. It looks like the point where the strut attaches to the car is part of the actual body, those few inches that come down to join the strut. Does anyone know how to fix that? The body shop was worried that there was no way to re-brace that or weld that area. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
