If were the passenger side I might have suggested the support bearing. I'm wondering of this could be like my trans mount experience where I though it was the CV but it was actually the GS poly trans mount had sagged so much the CV was running on the balls. Oddly enough I didn't think this was the case as I would have thought the noise would have changed when hitting bumps of dips, but it didn't.
Have you tried spinning the wheel when jacked up but with the suspension also jacked up to riding height?
What about a hardened bushing somewhere in the driver's side (control arm, sway bar, etc.) that could be transferring noise more directly?
Is the rim or tire rubbing anywhere? This would probably have been worn down after a bit of driving to get rid of the sound.
Dragging brake pad?
Thinking out loud but I doubt it was something you disturbed when you did the tie rod or when the alignment was done...or??
