I typically recommend to NG900 clients a cable replacement every 60k miles during the major service. Cables are cheap and pretty simple to replace, good peace of mind.
When you need to replace the clutch, best to splurge and install the hydraulic conversion kit from Taliferro Imports along with their stainless steel master to slave clutch line. Costs a bit more, but worth every penny in clutch feedback.
