Oil Leak after 0W40 oil change / PCV #6 install Posted by Tulsaab [Email] (#31) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Tulsaab) on Tue, 3 Sep 2013 11:37:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Earlier this year my dad purchased a '02 9-3 Convertible w/ 70K miles on it. Excellent car, and was well maintained, except no one had ever done the PCV #6 upgrade. Right after he got it, we changed the oil to OW40 (not sure what was used previously) and then a few months back, we added the PCV #6 upgrade. I double checked it to make sure we did it right.
Yesterday my dad mentioned to me that he saw drops of oil in his driveway, and when I went to take a look at it, it looks like oil is coming from the head by the timing cover. I can't see any visible signs of drippage from the PCV system either.
What do you think the culprit could be? Was it the PCV kit, the change of oil viscosity, or just good luck?
