Had very slight leak, not visible, for a year +, would get coolant low signal every ~2k miles, top off, and continue on my way.
Just drove 1,000 mile roundtrip last week, 80+ on the highway, and consumption started to rise on the drive. Put probably 32 oz in the car, got Coolant Level low warning 2-3 times, topping off as I went.
Now, I get home, and get steam out from under the hood when I stop the car, and Coolant level low sign again after less than 50 miles, small puddle under car... so something changed after the highway drive.
Steam coming out around the oil filler cap, so from the back side of the engine block area.
Already did heater hoses last year, haven't seen the source of the leak yet (dark when I leave for work and when I get home up here in Milwaukee).
Any suggestions on where to start looking for the leak? Is this likely a headgasket issue? If so, is it too late to try a retorque first?
Car did have headgasket replaced around 90k under prior owner per paperwork I got buying the car 6 years ago.
As always, any thoughts for looking will be appreciated.
