I just sold a 2001 9-5 Aero. It was a 5 speed. I also have an '06 9-5 but it is an automatic that I bought a little over a year ago that now has 64k miles. Now I want a 5 speed again and have seen some viggens advertised. Don't know much about them but it seems as though the engine is the same as the 9-5 Aero from around the same time. is that correct? I know about the 9-5 Aero engine and what breaks like the TB, CPS, bad DIC, flex pipe, etc and have replaced them all at times doing the work myself. Never had to replace the MAF. Bought the '01 at 70k miles and put another 90k on top of that on the car before selling. Clutch was still original. Never heard about pistons cracking on the 9-5 but have read some instances in the Viggen. Seems like replacing the MAF every so often is a good idea on the Viggen to prevent lean running cars which might lead to the cracking oistins issue.
