I could use some advice or even just some sympathy.

I was simply sitting at a red light when someone just plowed into me from behind and sent me into the car in front of me. There must have been 15 to 20 cars lined up as we waited for the light, I have no idea how this person could have been so distracted as to not see us.

A little background on the car - I am the original owner, it has been my daily driver and good friend for 14+ years. People keep cars that long, sure, but they are usually relegated to a station car at some point. This car has gotten me everywhere I have needed to go for a decade and a half. Mobil-1 0W-40 all the time, NEVER been to a car wash EVER, only washed by hand, only by me. 17" dual 3 spokes, SAAB stainless sport exhaust, bilstein/eibach suspension, etc etc etc. The bond I have formed with this car and the memories attached to it...lets just say if I was offered a $300k Ferrari for a straight up trade, I would decline. 165,000 miles and didn't even feel like it was at mid-life yet.

Now for the damage...no pics yet, but I will describe. Front grille, lights are destroyed, bumper cover looks pretty bad, hook moderately buckled. After sitting a while, noticed a small fluid puddle at the left front. Rear bumper is pushed in, hatch won't close, the floor under the trunk looks buckled somewhat (I think that is the worst part). Opening the trunk reveals the base of the trunk is inward maybe 6 inches. Slight dimpling of the rear quarter. Car will be towed to my home tomorrow and I will get it into my garage before the rain comes (hatch is partially open, water can get in).

I am preparing myself for the inevitable extremely low offer by the insurance company. This car was literally pristine. 14 yrs/165k miles and not even a door ding, and you can eat off the engine, the paint is like glass. There is no way to place a value on the fact that I know all of the maintenance and history and have driven each and every mile myself. I don't know what to do. I see know way to be made whole. I cannot replace it with an equivalent vehicle, because one does not exist. That's life I guess. I don't want some soulless new car, nor do I want someone's nice so called "well kept" 99 9-3.

I won't get into my injuries here, as it is not the forum for that.

Any advice on handling the insurance adjuster would be great.

Here is a pic of her as she was:
