Hi Dan,
Yes it will be a full turbo and you will find that the car is basically the same as the 99 9-3.
The convertible on the other hand can be a problem. If it works now without any hitches that is a good thing. If it doesn't work it may need some expensive repairs. The convertible from 1995 to 1998 used electric motors while all other Saab convertibles used hydraulics to function.
By 1998 most of the bugs were worked out of the tops but they still suffered from a weak tonneau motor assembly which works much better if the reinforcement kit was installed. The motor housing was aluminum and bent like crazy. Also the cables to the tonneau latch would stretch and needed replaced at times but at minimum needed the latches adjusted so they released and did not strain the motor housing any worse. There are some other problems from time to time with the top and if you ask I am sure someone will go over them. If nothing else I would suggest at minimum you have the top checked out by a knowledgeable Saab shop to look at that as well as some of the switches and gears.
