Seems silly to not replace the timing cover if it measures out of spec after tearing down the engine to that extent. Its over spec, replace it. Also fit new oil pump gears, and pump cover for good measure. For what the parts are and what they do, they are extremely cheap vs other brands. Especially with the intent of keeping and enjoying the vehicle long term.
