I have a '94 900SE Turbo / 5spd - 215k miles.

A few weeks ago the plastic tank on one end of my radiator sprung a massive leak. I was on the freeway and pulled out to a safe spot. The temp hit red. I was towed home and the car sat for a couple a weeks while I took everything apart to get to the radiator and remove it and then obtain one from a donor vehicle. Note that the battery was disconnected and removed for over a week.

Today I put everything back together and took her for shake down drive and I am noticing some strange behaviors. I wonder if I did not reconnect something properly.

When I rev over 4000 rpms, the car starts to sputter. It happens pretty consistently when at highway speeds or starting off the line. I can get to 4500 rpms sometimes. It feels just like when the red line limiter kicks in at ~6000 rpm.

At times it idles rough, almost like it is missing right after starting. Later when stopped at a light it is fine.

Questions...
1. I had to pull a bunch of stuff off to get to the radiator...intake hoses, intercooler, p/s lines, etc. It looks like I reconnected everything. Could I have missed something to cause the cut out at 4k?

2. Perhaps the high temp a few weeks ago triggered a "limp home mode" that needs to be cleared?

3. Did having the battery disconnected for a week impact the ECU and it will need to reset or relearn some settings?

I haven't done a compression or leak down test to see if there was head / head gasket damage done when things got too hot.

Besides the rough idle and 4000 rpm cut out she runs and pulls well.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

-Mike
