In case it ever happens to my car, and what parts I should acquire in advance due to periodic (or permanent) unavailability.
The pins in the U-joint are tapered. If tapping a pin with a punch to remove the pin doesn't work, tap the other side. It seems that too many owners resort to drilling out the pin, assuming it is straight sided, and really messing things up.
