Weird over boost solved Posted by Bufkin [Email] (#1822) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bufkin) on Sat, 4 Mar 2017 13:34:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Pulled the head to fix an exhaust leak/broken stud issue. After reassembly, boost would go to the top of the red, check engine light flashing, In 3rd gear and above.
After checking all sorts of thing, I found a loose clamp on the rubber hose from the turbo output to the intercooler at the intercooler. The hose wouldn't blow off, just push out enough to leak some air.
I've had hoses blow off, but that was always followed by a lack of any boost and no power.
Can anyone explain why this minor leaking would cause severe overboost?
The acceleration seemed to match the boost, much faster rather than lower power.
