Convertible adjustment : First bow clearance Posted by MC [Email] (#1472) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MC) on Thu, 25 Jul 2019 16:39:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2003 9-3SE convertible.
Originally the first bow would "THWACK!" and hit the cowling lock at top of the windshield when closing.
I ran the adjustment stops out at the C-pillar area about 3/4 of a turn on both sides and the hitting has stopped.
issue now is: once the top is completely closed; the first-bow cowling latch does not release enough to fully disengage the locks.
IF I first bump the top switch to command down/open (accompanied by a "check soft top latches" SID message) and THEN open the first bow cowling latch handle, the first bow pops up as tho a tension was released.
The fifth bow is still latched to the tuenno cover lid at this point,
so i'm not sure where the tension adjustment is that releases the first bow locks UP from the cowling.
Any insight appreciated
