Have some issues with the main instrument occasionally doing weird stuff for a some seconds and then returning back to normal again. So what happens is that the break lamp, fuel lamp and infodisplay lamp turns on at the same time. Simultaneously the tachometer dies and the dimmer of the instrument lights gives the lamps 100% power. The instrument is the "digital" version for the 900NG and not the mechanical/analog.
I fear that it's something more severe than a simple ground fault to the instrument causing these problems (or am I wrong?). So I'm planning to replace the instrument but must it be exactly the same as the original from a 900NG or is it okay to take an instrument from a OG 9-3(that looks pretty much the same)? Is it as well okay to use a replacement with a turbo/APC meter or will that cause problems with the Night Panel since my car doesn't have a turbo?
It's a bit tricky to find a digital nonturbo instrument from a 900NG so would be thankful for any advice about which instruments that are compatible.
