Replacing side impact sensor - gluing back the foam layer Posted by NCCaniac [Email] (#352) [Profile/Gallery] (more from NCCaniac) on Fri, 29 May 2020 08:16:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My airbag light was on and Tech II says the issue is the side impact sensor in the driver's door. I have the new sensor unit and the rivets needed to hold it in place, but after removing the door panel and peeling back the thin "moisture" barrier I realize that I need some adhesive to glue that thin foam layer back in place. What type of adhesive is that that I had to cut through to peel that layer back? It doesn't seem like a silicone adhesive. Would a standard silicone adhesive work as a substitute?
