Yes one time years ago I had a damaged plug on the IDM. On that car the red lock piece could slide all the way out. Any time I checked it never appeared to not be locked completely. But if the car was running and I pulled on the harness it would act up.
As far as the harness I believe the IDM feedback and control wires go directly to the T7 ecm. I think power and ground may have a different route but there are specific codes for power supply to the IDM. Good Luck, Bernie
