Hi all,
Any electrical engineers around? Or, has anyone done this? I’m trying to get a power driver seat out of a junkyard car. It’s a 20001 junked 9-3 vert, seat going into 2002 5-door.

I’m not sure how to make the handy screwdriver/hose manual seat mover thing, and/or if that’s also used to raise the seat. I do have one of the portable 12 volt battery jumper packs. I’m figuring if I connect the positive and negative cables of that to somewhere, I’ll be able to use the seat side switches to move the base enough to uncover the seat floor bolts, and get the seats out.

The online WIS instructions said to first raise the seat to highest point. MUST I do that? Then move it back and forth as needed to uncover floor bolts. Great, but where should I be connecting my power source? I’m thinking either at the blue connector on the A-pillar, or possibly at the wire connector plug that attaches to the seat position switch assembly. I’d think the easiest idea might be to attach 12V to either side of the back & forth motor, but I don’t think I can get to that because the seat is lowered right down.

Anyone have any ideas? The blue connector is either H29 or H33 I think. But I’m worried I’d need to have power to both from reading about relay issues on one seat preventing the other seat from moving. Now this particular car has a power driver seat and a manual passenger seat. I’m also not sure if it’s the red? wire coming out of that H29/H33 junction that’s the live wire? So, where am I putting my power?

I think it’s a blue & blue/white wire that’s for the correct motor. That’s from looking at the Online WIS, seat wiring diagram. I realize this question is a bit all over the place. I don’t know how to add the wire diagram pics to this post, and it’s late at night. The junkyard cuts the battery cables off, so I don’t think I can just hook my power to those. Or is that an option? People have been tearing parts out of this car, so I’m not sure if all the connections are there between the engine battery compartment location, possible missing fuses, and the seat movement controls.

The long and the short of it, can anyone tell me where and/or what pins to attach 12 volts to, to remove power seats from a dead car? Thanks for any help!
Mark
