I replace my fuel filter at 108000 miles. I then opened it up, not very easy. The fuel filter element paper showed black deposits. Nothing that looked heavy enough to limit flow. As I unwound it, it there was some of it that was totally clean.

These filters with leaded fuel and tern steel tanks, (leaded steel), would create light grey deposits in the filters.

Replaced the O2 sensor at the same time as preventative maintenance. No change, old one must have been in pretty good shape.

Yes, the plugs are the first order of the day. Look for deposits and signs of arc tracting in the deposits. Get heat range #6. Watch for differences in the deposits for each cylinder, could be evidence of uneven fueling caused by fouled fuel injectors. Techron Concentrate...

95SET 114000 miles.
