Rims: How bent is too bent?

I just made the swap to my snow tires mounted on a separate set of 15" steel rims. As I have been noticing a slight vibration in the steering wheel at approx. 70mph (I swear I only went that fast once in Nevada where it's legal, officer), I was eager to see if there was any deformation in the aluminum rims of my summer tires which might be responsible for any imbalance of the wheels.
On two of the tires, there were imperfections on two wheels. On one, there was no visible problem, but only a slight distrurbance on the inner edge of the rim which could be felt. On another, there was a perhaps a very, very slight visual perturbance which could also be felt.
Aside from the whole issue of why this happened (been running 35psi, for what it's worth), I am curious about whether or not these slight imperfections are sufficient to cause noticable imbalance, and if so, can they be compensated for with a regular re-balancing in the spring, or should the wheels be sent out for repair?
Many thanks for any thoughts/advice on the matter.
PS: Kudos to Saab for blessing my 900SE with low profile tires.
