Not accurate at all. Very conservative, probably by design for the most part. They want to make sure there's no possible way of running out of gas with distance still showing on the DTE. My old 9000 seemed to have a DTE which coincided very closely with the fuel light coming on, which led me to theorise that's what it was supposed to do. My 900 doesn't seem to follow the same pattern, however.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I pretty much ignore the DTE. I just use the fuel economy indicator and distance travelled.
