To clear the "Time for Service" message, hold down the clear button for quite a while, like 20 seconds. The SID show beep once at 3-5 seconds to indicate the message was cleared one time only, and then beep again at approx. 20 seconds to indicate the message was cleared for good.
As far as he 125,000 mile check-up; I just did my 35,000 mile check-up. I did most of the items myself (sparkplugs, air filter, cabin filter, coolant change, brake caliper lube, check brake pads, check everything) Cost of parts about $80.
Then I had the dealer do the couple things I either didn't want to do or didn't have the tools for (oil and filter change, brake fluid change, ATF change). The cost was about $120 at the dealer, plus the technician pointed out a potential problem with the serpentine belt (that cost $150 to have the dealer change and verify all the pullys were good).
Better than the $500 to have the dealer do it all and I feel better I know the car better now.
